Dr. Hassan Torkamandi began his pharmacy career in 2004 as a pharmacy student and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree in 2007. After gaining two years of experience in a community pharmacy setting, he joined a university-affiliated hospital in 2009, where he worked as a hospital pharmacist, clinical pharmacy researcher, and preceptor in IV compounding until 2016. During this time, he supervised pharmacy students in their internships for four years and published more than 40 articles in pharmacy practice. In 2016, Hassan immigrated to Canada, became a licensed pharmacist in Ontario in 2018, and has continued his practice in IV compounding ever since.

Teaching has always been a cornerstone of his work, with a specialized focus on the OSCE. Since 2018, he has taught and assessed OSCE candidates across multiple institutions and in private classes. When the COVID-19 pandemic made in-person teaching difficult, he moved his classes online and has since developed new online teaching methods for the OSCE. His work covers every facet of the exam: designing realistic scenarios, teaching essential communication skills, helping candidates apply their knowledge in practice, and assessing performance with clear, practical feedback. His extensive background as an OSCE assessor gives him deep insight into what examiners look for.

Building upon this foundation, Hassan co-founded Simulabs Technologies, an educational technology company, alongside a team of pharmacy and IT professionals. Simulabs is a leading Canadian provider of online pharmacy exam preparation. Through Simulabs and its online platform, Dosette, Hassan develops targeted learning resources for internationally trained pharmacists on their path to Canadian licensure. His goal is to help every candidate not only pass the exam, but also become a confident and caring pharmacist in Canada.
